Armenia is a ancient country with a rich cultural history stretching back more than 4000 years. Known as the land of a thousand monastaries, Armenia's history is well preserved throughout the countyside in the small towns, villages, and churches nestled in the mountianous regions outside of Yerevan while in the modern capitol city you can find a church dating from 1693 sharing a streetcorner with newly constructed buildings.
