Kyiv International School is hosting a QSI Regional Professional Development on November 27-29.
Staff members from KIS will be joined by others from QSI International School of Chisinau and QSI International School of Minsk. We are fortunate to have Gordon Blackie, the Director of Sanaa International School who will speak on the following titles.
1) What do we do? And why we do what we do!
2) How to create an effective Mastery Learning Classroom that doesn't kill the teacher!
3) Go home energized and joyful!
We need your help to create a program that will meet your needs.
The following is a request from the KIS Professional Development Committee:

HERE’S WHERE YOU COME IN!
We will need the input of the teaching staff to make this year’s professional development program something that will be useful and beneficial to the entire staff.
We are only asking you for two things…
First, please contact your above mentioned Professional Development contact and let him or her know what resources or information you would like to get out of this year’s professional development sessions. Gordon Blackie will be here in November for three days and we need to give him an idea of how he can tailor his presentations to best serve the needs of our teaching staff.
Second, we need the help of our staff to organize break out sessions for the school’s ongoing Professional Development Program. So if you have some wisdom that you would like to impart to your fellow teachers please contact either Lori, Mike, or Frank (depending on the age level your presentation is geared for) and let either of them know what you would like to present, and when you might be able to lead a break out session. These break out sessions will be part of our monthly staff meetings, as well as part of the November Professional Development Training, supplementing the presentations of Gordon Blackie.
Please start thinking about what you would like to see the Professional Development Committee offer as resources for you and get your wish list into us as quickly as possible.
